The Client
Our client is a top 20 firm of Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers providing a full range of accounting and business advisory services to a diverse range of businesses and individuals across the UK and overseas.
The Role
The main purpose of this role is to take responsibility for a portfolio of more complex insolvency cases both corporate and personal. You will be required to manage your portfolio of cases with minimal supervision and assist more junior members of staff with their work.
Cases include:
- Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation
- Members’ Voluntary Liquidation
- Compulsory Liquidation
- Bankruptcy
- Administration (trading and non-trading)
- Company Voluntary Arrangements and Individual Voluntary Arrangements
Key Responsibilities
Managing case delivery including pre-appointment, case progression and closure
Ensuring all aspects of casework are completed in a timely manner and to a good standard
Ensuring all statutory and other deadlines are met
Reporting case progress and recommendations to management
Investigations into directors and debtors conduct
Dealing with creditor claims
Understanding the key commercial aspects of the insolvent cases
Liaising with directors and employees both pre and post appointment
Liaising with solicitors on specific legal issues arising on cases
Reporting case progress, recommendations and areas of risk to management
Investigations into directors and debtors conduct including criminal investigations
Investigations into directors and debtors conduct
Managing asset valuations and realisations
Dealing with claims and queries from creditors and declaring dividends
Attending meetings with creditors and shareholders and accompanying IP to initial meetings
Identifying and managing asset realisations and potential issues to be brought to the Office Holders attention
Liaising and corresponding with all stakeholders on cases
Managing job WIP, billing and budgets on cases
Preparation of all statutory documentation and reports
Attending interviews with directors, bankrupts and other relevant parties
Assist with the firm’s marketing activities as and when required
As you progress within the role your duties will become more delegation based, preparing you to move into management.
Requirements
Minimum 3 -4 years insolvency experience in a similar role essential
ACA/ACCA or CPI/ICAEW Certificate in Insolvency Qualification essential
Studying towards or considering JIEB desirable but not essential
Proven ability to work autonomously and as a part of a team
Experienced user of Microsoft Office and Outlook and time management system
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Salary
A competitive salary is negotiable for this role subject to experience and qualifications, with potential for a higher salary for more experienced candidates.
